- Generally speaking, work hours for this position are Monday-Friday 12pm-9pm
- From time to time, working on Saturdays will be required
- Happymix Creperie is closed on Sundays, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day
Compensation:
- Salaried position
- $40,000 / year
- $200 / mo vehicle allowance
- Paid time off
Overview:
Happymix Creperie is a brand-new concept and the first-of-its-kind for Downtown McKinney. This Assistant Manager position has never existed before and is being created to support and assist the General Manager in all aspects of restaurant operations and lead the delivery of happiness to our community in the form of fun and exceptional crepes, smoothies, and teas.
Responsibilities:
Customer Experience
- Deliver and model outstanding hospitality and customer service
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback
- Ensure service standards are met
- Maintain cleanliness of all areas of the restaurant at all times
- Have fun while being professional
Food & Beverage
- Train, assist, and supervise employees in food and drink preparation and delivery
- Monitor employee preparation and cooking techniques and guide improvements
- Monitor ingredients throughout the day and ensure they remain fresh, stocked and available
- Receive ingredients and ensure quality and freshness
- Keep food inventory organized, labeled, and properly rotated
- Monitor and enforce compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and food handling regulations
Business Operations
- Oversee front-of-house and back-of-house operations
- Oversee closing duties and ensure timely completion
- Order food and restaurant supplies
- Shop, purchase, load and unload food from local suppliers in your own vehicle
- Create and maintain cleaning schedules
- Supervise, motivate, and coach employees
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new employees
- Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback
- Assist in scheduling and shift coverage coordination
- Foster an encouraging and life giving work environment
Qualifications:
- Texas Certified Food Manager
- 2+ years experience in restaurant management or 4+ years experience as a professional chef/cook
- Skilled in cooking on a professional grill (you’ll train employees in making crepes)
- Must drive a reliable vehicle and maintain the interior in clean condition
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency and confidence in reading and writing spreadsheets
- Flexible availability, including evenings, some Saturdays, and some holidays
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods (most of your shift)
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs (handling 50 lb bags of flour, sugar, etc.)
- Frequent moving, crouching, bending, and reaching (think food prep and cleaning)
- Comfortable working in a warm kitchen and fast-paced service environment
